2010 Blue and Gold + 27 Arrow of Light Recipients

That’s right, I said 27! Pack 700 held their annual Blue and Gold Banquet and Bridging Ceremony. The Blue and Gold is the annual “birthday party” the Pack holds to celebrate the “birth” of Scouting. It is traditionaly held each year in February. It is also often the time that Webelos scouts accept their Arrow of Light, and bridge to scouting. Pack 700 is extremely proud to have presented 27 boys with thier Arrow of Light awards. We also had 4 Super Achievers – Boys that have earned all 20 Webelos activity pins.  Most of the boys have already chosen a Troop and will begin their new journey into Boy Scouts soon.

Quicksilver District Pinewood Derby Results!

 2010-qs-1   2010-qs-2

After a morning of racing, the results are in!  Tigers, Wolves, Bears, Webelos, Siblings, and Open Class (Dad) contestants laid it all on the line this morning at the Latter Day Saints Church on Bernal Ave in San Jose this morning.  Contestants from all over the district brought their pinewood racers to see who was the best of the best.  Several heats were decided in less than 1/100th of a second, with a handful decided in 1/1000ths of a second.  Pack 700 had a good showing with several racers in the Wolf, Webelo, Family, and Open class.  Pack 700 winners at the district were:

Wolf – Christopher D. – 1st
Webleos – Trevor P. – 1st
Webleos – Johnathon D. – 2nd
Family – Tara P. – 1st
Family – Mia S. – 2nd
Open  – Ray D. – 3rd

Thanks to all the volunteers that made it happen!  We had a great registration and inspection team, an awesome MC, track and pit crew, and the all important “catcher” at the end of the track.  It was so much fun, let’s do it again next year!  For all the stats and results, click on the Quicksilver District Pinewood Derby link on the left of this page.
